German Iris ✦ Linocut Print

$34.00 USD

While traveling through Arkansas, I stumbled upon a patch of stunning white irises growing along the roadside. Though bearded (or German) irises aren't native to North America, I was captivated by their full, elegant petals. It was the first time I’d seen them in person, and their beauty stayed with me.

In creating this linoprint, I studied the work of decorative and Art Nouveau plant illustrations to better understand what makes these flowers so captivating in art. With that inspiration, I sought to capture the delicate essence and vitality of this iris in a composition that reflects its grace.

I’m so pleased with how this print turned out—it truly embodies the life and beauty of this unique flower.

I recommend framing your print with a sheet of acid-free white paper behind it to enhance the appearance of the print. The transparency of the paper benefits from light filtering through, adding a dynamic quality to the artwork.

Each print is shipped with a sturdy backer and protective packaging to ensure it arrives safely.
